- Natural Coenzyme-Q-10™
ISO 9001 & 14001 Certified |
| Coenzyme-Q-10, Ubidecarenone is a natural compound historically used for medical treatment of heart disease in Japan, Italy and China, and as a natural health product in the United States, Canada and other countries.
| In the human body, Ubidecarenone is richly present in heart tissue and the liver, where it functions in the respiratory electron transport system of the mitochondria.
For the commercial production of Co-Q-10 in Japan, there are two manufacturing processes currently in use: Chemical Synthesis Process and Microbial Fermentation Process. Maypro's Co-Q-10 is naturally fermented. This process yields "all trans" form Co-Q-10 (pharmacologically active form).
Since cardiovascular health is one of the main concerns amongst people today Co-Q-10 should be added to your product line. NATURAL Co-Q-10, one of Maypro's top products is recognized for its efficacy of promoting cardiovascular health. Various clinical studies indicate that Co-Q-10 is instrumental in maintaining normal blood pressure and overall heart health. In addition, studies have also shown improvement of the following symptoms in slight and moderate degrees of congestive heart failure during the treatment of edema: pulmonary congestion, hepatic swelling and anginal symptoms.

| About CoenzymeQ10 |
| Coenzyme Q-10, Ubidecarenone, is a natural compound having the chemical structure shown below. This compound is also known as CoQ-10 or Ubiquinone-50. CoQ-10 has been used clinically for medical treatment of heart disease in Japan, Italy, China and as a natural health product in the USA, Canada and other countries. |
| In the human body, Ubidecarenone is richly present in heart tissue and the liver, where it functions in the respiratory electron transport system in the mitochondria. Consequently, its toxicity to the human body is extremely low. It has ten isoprene units forming a side chain attached to a benzoquinone ring and all of the ten double bonds in the side chain should be “trans” form to be physiologically effective in medicinal applications. |
| For the commercial production of Co-Q-10, there are two manufacturing processes currently in use: Chemical Synthesis Process and Microbial Fermentation Process. |
In the case of chemical synthesis, relatively higher rates of "cis"-isomers in the side chain (pharmacologically less active form) and Coenzyme Q-9, which has only 9 isoprene units in the side chain, are formed as by-products which must be eliminated from the final product through a purification process.
| On the other hand, our fermentation process yields "all trans" form Q-10 (pharmacologically active form) and produces the scarce Coenzyme Q-9. |
| In our process, a selected microorganism is cultivated in a continuous fermentor and the fermentation process broth is subjected to solvent extraction followed by column chromatographic refinery to yield Ubidecarenone. |
| The whole process is controlled under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and the product is severely examined according to the Standards for Ingredients of Drugs in the Japenese Pharmacopeia. |
