New Clinical Research
Compared with placebo, supplementation was associated with significant improvements in body weight, BMI, insulin resistance and metabolic markers, along with improvements in testosterone, LH, the LH/FSH ratio and menstrual cycle regularity. Researchers also observed meaningful changes in the gut microbiota, including increased microbial diversity and enrichment of potentially beneficial taxa including Bifidobacterium and Faecalibacterium. This research opens an important new chapter for Akkermansia at the intersection of the microbiome, metabolic health and women’s health.
