Mice colonized with the gut microbiota of a cow’s milk allergic (CMA) infant also had significantly lower levels of Anaerostipes caccae—and butyrate—in the intestinal lumen.
Healthy mice showed stronger gut barrier function than CMA mice, which correlates with higher butyrate levels.
