WholeFoods Magazine compiled a research roundup covering new clinical findings from ingredient suppliers across the microbiome, sports nutrition, nutricosmetics, and healthy aging categories.

One study in the Journal of Exercise and Nutrition tested lactotripeptides IPP and VPP in 34 trained men, reporting gains in lean mass and thigh circumference plus lower fatigue at the higher daily dose.

Maypro's Abhijit Natu, vice president of sales and marketing, said food-derived peptides contribute to nitric oxide production, and pointed to the company's lactotripeptide ingredient, VasoDrive-AP.

Other entries examined OEA and gut bacteria, beetroot nitrate for postmenopausal muscle quality, a postbiotic for skin elasticity, a probiotic for urinary health, and vitamin K2 for neuromuscular signaling.

Further summaries addressed ashwagandha and bacopa for stress and sleep, black seed oil, prebiotics for athletes, saw palmetto for hair, infant whey protein, and regenerative agriculture perceptions.
