Expo West Trend Report

In case you missed it, this year's Natural Products Expo West hosted more than 65,000 attendees and 3,000 exhibiting companies at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Sleep remains a key focus for manufacturers and finished products along with complimentary mood and stress support products. Melatonin is still king, but there is increasing interest in melatonin alternatives. Women's Health was well represented with brands focused on creating hormone harmony while interest in holistic beauty solutions remained steady. The probiotics category continues to grow with increased interest in pre-biotics, post-biotics and synbiotics for the good of the microbiome. Hydration was everywhere-- From sports drinks and collagen water to mushroom coffee and protein coffee creamer. The children's products category seems to be growing larger as well with more manufacturers looking for child-friendly ingredient choices.

While probiotics and collagen were leaders in the ingredient space, the "mushroom boom" was evident at Expo West with a variety of mushroom ingredients and finished products on display.
